Got me a new setup yesterday. It's a Shakespeare bait caster, and a 5'6" pistol grip Ugly Stick.
I took it out for the first time this evening, but I didn't get any bites. It is a definite change from what I am used to, but I really like it.
The rod is exactly what I wanted, but the reel is budget. I plan to replace it when I have the funds available. Until then it will be a fine reel. When I do replace it I will get one of the $8 Durango casting rods from Wally World, and use it as a backup.
